I almost couldn't believe my ears and eyes at the recent revelation that Reggie Bush has still not returned the Heisman Trophy he won back in 2005. He was reportedly to return it last September, which was when his alma mater, the University of Southern California, returned their copy of the trophy to the Heisman Trophy Trust. USC, as part of its punishment for not being forthright with the NCAA about violations committed by Bush and his family, was to scrub Bush's name and legacy from its records.

Heisman Had Been AWOL

With that said, the university removed the statue from its casing in Heritage Hall, and off it went to New York. Bush, under considerable pressure from the media and amid building speculation the NCAA was going to strip him of the trophy, publicly stated that he would respond in kind. However, it seems his stepfather had other intentions, securing the trophy and delivering to the San Diego Hall of Champions, where it has been adorning its walls for several months.
